AIR-FRIED BRUSSEL SPROUTS WITH DRIED FIGS, BACON AND LEMON
1 lb small Brussel sprouts
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup dried figs, cut into small pieces
1 cup thick cut bacon, finely sliced
2 cloves of garlic, chopped
1/4 cup chopped parsley
1. Preheat BELLA Air Fryer to 375°F.
2. Peel away a few of the heavier, dark leaves from the Brussel sprouts. Split in half and toss in olive oil,
season with salt and pepper. Place into the basket of the BELLA Air Fryer and cook on high heat till soft and golden
(this should take approximately 12-15 minutes, they should be quite dark, but not burnt!).
3. Meanwhile, place bacon in a small saucepan set over medium heat. Using a wooden spoon, give the bacon a stir every
few moments to prevent sticking. Lower the heat and continue to cook for a few minutes (the idea is for the bacon to dry out
and for the fat to separate). Once cooked, remove from heat and pour off as much fat as possible. Add in the figs along with
the garlic and cook for a few moments, until garlic takes on a little color.
4. Remove Brussel sprouts from Air Fryer basket and add to the bacon. Squeeze the juice of the lemon over the top,
sprinkle parsley, toss and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve.
