Cherry Almond Hand Pies
What You'll Need
- 1 egg
- All-purpose flour, for dusting
- 1 pkg (17 oz) frozen puff pastry, thawed according to package directions
- 1/4 cup cherry jam
- 1 cup toasted sliced almonds
What To Do
- CONDITION and PREHEAT Bella Rotating Waffle Maker.
- Beat egg with 1 tbsp water; set aside. On lightly floured work surface, cut out six 4-inch rounds from each piece of pastry to make 12 rounds, rerolling scraps if necessary.
- Divide jam and almonds in center of rounds. Brush outer edge of pastry with egg wash; bring edges together to create half-moon shape and enclose filling. Crimp edges with fork to seal pastry. Place in freezer for 5 to 10 minutes or until firm.
- Place 2 pies in center of lower cooking plate, about 2 inches apart. Close lid; turn the temperature control setting to HIGH (5) and bake for 5 minutes.
- When pies are cooked, the top cooking plate should lift easily. (Lift the plate gently; if it pulls, continue cooking for 1 minute and test again.) Repeat with remaining pies.
