What You'll Need
- 5.5 cups all purpose flour
- 1lb lard
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 can of lemon lime soda (7 up or Sprite)
What To Do
- Mix the flour and salt together
- Cut in the lard with pastry cutter or two knives
- Slowly pour in the soda and mix just until the dough forms
Form a pie crust:
Roll out the dough into a 12 inch circle on a floured surface
Fold onto rolling pin and then unfold over a 9 inch pie plate
Trim and form the edges
Par-bake a pie crust:
Freeze the prepared pie plate with dough for 15 mins
Line frozen crust with buttered foil
Fill with pie weights or dried beans
Bake on a baking sheet for 20 minutes
Allow to cool before filling
