Perfect Pastry Dough

What You'll Need
  • 5.5 cups all purpose flour
  • 1lb lard
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 can of lemon lime soda (7 up or Sprite)
What To Do
  1. Mix the flour and salt together
  2. Cut in the lard with pastry cutter or two knives
  3. Slowly pour in the soda and mix just until the dough forms

Form a pie crust:
Roll out the dough into a 12 inch circle on a floured surface
Fold onto rolling pin and then unfold over a 9 inch pie plate
Trim and form the edges

Par-bake a pie crust:
Freeze the prepared pie plate with dough for 15 mins
Line frozen crust with buttered foil
Fill with pie weights or dried beans
Bake on a baking sheet for 20 minutes
Allow to cool before filling
